It’s the season of giving, once again–drive pass Ayala Triangle and the Christmas lights are up on trees in all its glory. If you’re a “working girl” like me, you’re most likely drafting a mental gift-list to give to all the somebodies in your lives. Fortunately, I’m mostly surrounded by women so my gift selections are always streamlined. If you’re looking to give the women in your lives some pretty beauty items, then this list might also prove to be helpful. Otherwise, if you just want to know my newest shopping discovery, carry on with the reading.
Just recently, I came across Beauty MNL. It’s the most comprehensive beauty-centric website in the Philippines, that offers both local & international skincare and makeup items at competitive prices. The online buying process is simplified, they have wide options for payments (card, debit, COD), and it delivers straight to your doorstep within 3 days (2 for me, actually).
I truly adore Beauty MNL. I was led on to the site by one of their in-house articles on ombre lips and from then on, I was hooked. I’m a loyal customer and I look no further for my beauty needs, no lie! I was so tired of having to go through the hassle of browsing multiple Instagram stores and then paying different sellers via bank deposits. For a Busy Bee like me, Beauty MNL is truly Godsend.
Plus, trust me on this, when the item arrives, even the packaging is divine. I was so impatient, I didn’t bother taking a photo but google it and you’ll see.
Beauty MNL has a large selection of beauty products at all prices–they have high-end ones, and they have cheaper but reliable brands as well. I’ll show you my latest loot just to give you an idea–the most impressive part is that this entire loot didn’t cost me more than P1,500.
You know the cult favourite peeling gel brand Cure? Well, Mizon’s version is just as good, if not better at half the price! The moment you scrub it on your skin, the dead parts clump together as you exfoliate. It has a slight lemony scent that is quite pleasant too. The moment you wash it off, your face will feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Since it’s not at all harsh, I use this at least thrice a week.
The concept of using Dry Shampoos in the Philippines sound ridiculous since we bathe at least once a day but they’re actually still very useful. For example, when I go to a club or a party and my hair starts to smell like an ashtray, it usually takes me 3 washes to remove the scent. To avoid this, I use the dry shampoo an hour before to remove the scent before completely washing it off. Or if I have errands and I’m rushing from the gym to somewhere else, I spray on my dry shampoo to ensure that even my scalp is fresh. I chose the Hair Fairy brand because it was portable but I’ve also previously bought the Tresemme one and Dove one from the site.
Tony Moly Snail Lip Essence at P399, Bam Balm Beach Born Lip Balm at P150
Since I’ve been using a lot of matte lipsticks, I need to make sure my lips are supple and soft so the lipstick goes on smoothly. So every night before I sleep, I put on the lip essence and then lock it in with the Bam Balm Beach Born Lip Balm. The Lip Essence just makes it supple and reduces the fine lines like what a moisturizer does for you, but the lip balm essentially exfoliates my lips (it has tiny sugar specs that act as exfoliants) and moisturizes it.
MeNow Lipgloss and Kissproof Lip Pencils (Price unavailable)
I bought this super early this year where I was on the look-out for the best matte lipsticks. I saw an article on Beauty MNL that showed a review and I was intrigued. I was even more surprised when I found out that the lipglosses (which are matte by the way) and the lip pencils don’t cost more than P150 each. Unfortunately, they’re mostly sold out so I had to wait for a long time until it became available again. Though it’s nothing amazing like Colourpop or Kylie, for P150 the product over-delivers. Just make sure not to pile on more than one coat though!
Hope you enjoyed the short but sweet showcase. I didn’t go through all the items I’ve bought in Beauty MNL fearing I’d probably take all day to show you but I focused on the most recent loot. More than anything, I suggest you go to their website and experience it yourself.
Hang on to my next post where I will be announcing the winner from the Dear Working Girl post.
