If you follow me on my Instagram account, you probably saw that one photo a couple of weeks ago, where I appear to be shooting a television commercial on green screen… no, it’s not a major campaign, it was actually a part of the B’lue YouTV event!
If you’re not familiar with the brand (which I doubt), B’lue is a recently launched water plus drink. It comes in 3 variants: Calamansi, Lychee, and (my favorite) Orange. It’s basically a better alternative to the usual sports drinks and sodas, and just as tasty. Since drinking B’lue makes you feel more “refreshed”and “alive”, the purpose of the event was for consumers to translate this as if they were doing alive B’lue commercial. Here’s how mine looked:
Don’t I look awkward? I swear, I seriously can’t act to save my life. This is practically why I’m in Advertising and fashion because I have literally no chance of superstardom fame. Kidding aside, the funny thing is, apart from being shot in the open (and in the middle of a mall), the experience felt super “real.” I’ve attended tons of shoots—for my day job, and for little commercial modeling/interviews—and this was super spot-on. They had the lights, the camera, the green screen, the producer, and everything in between!
But that wasn’t all—afterwards, I was shuttled to a “blue carpet” with a reporter asking me about my experience and about the commercial and next to her were screaming fans. If I ever even wondered what my life would be like had I actually wanted to be in Showbiz, I need not wonder any longer! Now I’ve had a literal glimpse, and I’m all good.
On the upside of things, I did get to drink B’lue while filming the mock commercial, and I got to keep the entire bottle. Shallow, I know, but trust me, that drink is a favorite of mine. Why don’t you try it too? #FullyAliveWithBlue
That said, here’s an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago–I super love how dark blue and burnt orange complement each other. Here are some photos:
