I am deeply sorry for neglecting my blog. Actually, I guess I’m sorry for neglecting it the whole of 2015. To be fair however, I had every intention of writing a Christmas and New Year’s blog post. In fact, I’ve a saved draft for the New Year but unfortunately, life got in the way. Here’s to hoping 2016 will give me consistency when it comes to blogging, otherwise, I’m fairly active on social media so add me up as @dominiquetiu on either instagram, snapchat, twitter, or pinterest.
That said, I had a fairly good start of the year. It was equal parts relaxing, insightful, and unhinged. Over-all, it’s been wonderful thus far. I’m only hoping that the good streak is indicative of my 2016–crossing my fingers! Anyway, this isn’t exactly my New Year’s post, I’ll get back to that some other time. For now, i’d like to talk about something that’s similarly smooth… my skin!
I know I’ve mentioned this a lot in my previous posts but for the benefit of those who just recently came across this blog, I have a strange obsession with “Lotions.” At some point in my life, I collected scented imported ones, but nowadays, I thoroughly enjoy having economy vat sizes of Lotions from reputable personal care lines in every corner of my room.
A current favorite of mine (situated on my bedside at that) is Silka’s Shea Butter Lotion; I use it at the start of the day and before going to bed—though there’s no harm in slathering on in-between to ensure that your skin is moisturized. Silka lotion promises to whiten the skin as early as 7 days—and given that I’m such a huge fan of Silka’s deodorants and soaps, I don’t doubt that at all. It allows you to maintain a youthful glow (which is more important) while at the same time, making it more even and fair. This is most likely because the primary ingredient is derived from Papaya, which contains enzymes and BHA that helps lift off dead skin cells so that skin will be clean, fresh, and younger looking! It also has vitamin B3, which assists in making your skin tone evenly fair. Plus, it protects skin from the harmful UV rays by the added SPF enhanced with Vitamin 6, that prevents skin from premature ageing.
I personally love how light and pleasant the smell of Silka Shea Butter lotion is. For me, that’s a primary concern since my skin reacts pretty badly to strongly, scented ones (I have chronic dermatitis/eczema). There are literally days where I try to smell my shoulders because it smells so good. Though it is advisable to put on lotion mid-day especially if you’re in a cooler environment, I love that Silka Lotion doesn’t feel sticky at all. It slathers on easily and moisturizes skin without that greasy feeling! I suggest you buy yourself a bottle to put in your office desk, in your bathroom, and by your bedside! That way, you won’t forget to put it on anywhere you go!
