Don’t worry, this post isn’t an early Christmas list (unless you want it to be). Since it’s October, and still pretty much my Birthday month, I’ve decided to create a list of “splurges” that you might want to consider for yourself. Please give me a round of applause for my digital watercolour skills too! That said, this is a spontaneous list of things that have caught my fancy–and no, not all of them are purchases from this month alone though this might be of your interests. Here’s a random list in no particular order:
Clinique Pore Refining Charcoal Mask from the Rustan’s Beauty Source
I recently took a facial beauty test just to see which areas need more work. I’m glad to share that my skin is quite healthy but like everyone else, needs a little bit of help here or there. I have a few enlarged pores on my T-zone and I really need to take precautions. Twice a week, I slather on a generous amount of Clinique’s charcoal mask to tighten my pores and I love how supple my skin feels right after. If you have enlarged pores, don’t just rely on toner alone–try a good quality mask. I highly recommend Clinique because it’s hypoallergenic and effective.
A quirky wooden watch from Jord Wood Watches
Though I have a penchant for designer Swiss watches, I still do appreciate unique and out-of-this-world timepieces. I also have a high regard for artistry, craftsmanship, and well-thought-out designs–and Jord watches have it all, with a modern twist. Embrace your inner hipster and get your own wooden piece from the website–they ship straight to your doorstep and these babies are world class. It’s worth a double-take and it’s certified eye candy… I’ve had tons of people ask me about it whenever I take it out for a spin.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her Perfume from Lux Asia
I love perfumes and because I love them so much, I don’t believe in having a signature scent (it’s a lie!!!). I like to surprise people’s senses by playing around with different types depending on my mood. I’m usually a goner for citrus and floral notes, but I’ve long been on a journey looking for the perfect musk-type of perfume. Thankfully, I got my hands on the latest Narciso Rodriguez For Her perfume, which is basically “sensual musk” in a bottle. It’s the perfect evening perfume, when you basically want to exude “sexy.”
Frency & Mercury Sunnies from Frency & Mercury Philippines (LS Pascual Optical)
If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (@dominiquetiu) then I’m pretty sure you’ve seen me sing sonnets just for this eyewear. I love them, I really do. Frency & Mercury is a Japanese sunglass brand, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to many that their sunnies are beyond divine. In fact, if you drop by LS Pascual, you’ll get to see their full line of premium eye wear and they’re basically masterpieces. They are a bit pricey though but truth be told, they’re so luxurious, it’s worth the splurge. They’re also quite unique so you can count on the fact that you’ll be sporting something that’s extraordinary.
Vampy Lipsticks (MAC Taupe, MUA Luxe Kooky, LA Splash Untamed) from Lannel Boutique
Dark, vampy lips are super “in” this season. If you want a safe option, opt for the MAC Taupe (a blogger favourite), or if you want to go all-out, opt for MUA Luxe’s Kooky or LA Splash’s Untamed. They are all matte type–so they make your lips look VAVAVOOM! Since it’s the Holiday season, it’s the perfect time to actually pick a shade of your choice and have fun with it–never mind if it’s too early in the day. I personally buy mine from Lannel Boutique as all products are guaranteed authentic and reasonably priced.
Chanel Brooches from Chanel
Ever since I started following @mylifeincolors on Instagram, I’ve been lusting over a few brooches from Chanel. Though these are a bit off-season (that’s how I get them reasonably priced from my supplier who frequents Europe), they’re still beautiful nonetheless. They can also instantly spice up an outfit. Unfortunately, a piece of this might cost an arm and a leg but if you’re a fan of the brand, and looking for a beautiful accessory (but cannot somehow commit to sparkly diamonds) they why not give brooches a try?
Alexandrite Peacock Cuff by Peewee Benitez
I met Peewee by chance and it was his jewelries that brought us together (and my obsession with both precious and semi-precious stones). As I’ve mentioned earlier, I am a huge fan of artistry and craftsmanship; I also want to be a unique little snowflake so he and I were an instant match. I admire Peewee’s vision when it comes to designing his pieces–they are all made by hand while the stones are probably older than I am. I’ve been a loyal customer of his and I’m pretty sure I will be having more fruitful purchases through him. If you want to take a look at his pieces, some are sold in Adora. Also, because I am quite selfish with Peewee, you can PM me if you are interested as he only does house calls.
Light Grooves Earphones by Visiontec Marketing Philippines
I am coincidentally a fan of both music and running–put two and two together, and you’ll most likely want your own Light Grooves Earphone. This piece literally lights up when you turn it on and it lights up to the beat of your music! It’s pretty handy too as you can answer calls using said earphones. I personally use my own Light Grooves when I’m running around the village late in the evening… at least I’m pretty sure no car will run me over! You can get your own from Landmark.
Daniel Wellington Watches from Daniel Wellington
A second timepiece in this entry–but quite different from the one I previously shown. Although they are relatively similar priced, this is a subdued modern-classic piece you can use for casual days. Daniel Wellington watches are cult classics–I’ve had people ask me numerous times where I get mine and the answer is simple: online. I prefer to get them directly from the Daniel Wellington global website if only because they deliver to your doorstep and they deliver fast (minus the additional fees and whatnot). For those of you looking to buy an “everyday” watch and would want a subtle piece, go for Daniel Wellington.
