Like every other vice known to mankind, Shopping (a very new age vice) can be very detrimental to your person if done in excess. However, when done as means to blow off some steam, it can be very therapeutic. I like to shop, I go to various malls on a weekly basis! Of course, because I’m a creature of habit, I’m always in my “usual haunts.”
I remember my college days (some many years ago) in Ateneo where I lived in the campus dormitory, thus limiting my worldview to mere Quezon City. My friends and I would frequent accessible malls within the area and stick to them due to familiarity. A favorite of mine would always be Araneta Gateway Mall—it was upscale, clean, convenient, complete, and had the best selections of stores compared to the ones surrounding it.
In fact, my friends and I would head over to Gateway to watch movies or shop in Mango or Rustan’s after conquering an extremely difficult long test or oral examination. I had fond memories of the mall, ones that I’ve made with my dorm mates but unfortunately, as soon as college ended, I wasn’t really able to visit unless there was a concert I’d attend.
When I was invited to check Gateway out recently, I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I know that the mall had the reputation of being one of the classiest in the North but I didn’t think it would change so much especially with their newly renovated wing and the addition of the Gateway tower. I guess the mall’s constant innovation to make our shopping experience better makes them so renowned and deserving of the “Shopping Center of the year” title.
I loved my entire shopping experience… the mall just screams “global”, reminiscent of International shopping centers. It has a wide variety of stores that cuts across all ages (meaning: my mom can enjoy it here) with retail giants like Rustan’s, Marks & Spencer, Uniqlo, Mango, Nafnaf, and so many more thrown into the mix.
Once you’re all shopped out, you can catch a breather in their scenic gardens or watch a movie or just eat in their food court where the choices are diverse! For those of you who’re bored with the usual hang-out options, why not drop by and discover Gateway Mall yourself?
Here are some photos of my excursion, as well as my shopping OOTD!
