Happy almost-Saturday, everyone! Apologies for the abrupt sabbatical… it’s been a busy and draining week for me so thank God for the weekend–48 hours of pure, relaxing bliss, courtesy of my bed! Weekends and me? We’re a match made in Nirvana. I don’t know how my sanity would fare if I didn’t have those 2 days to myself, really. I’d probably trip in some ditch somewhere and die out of exhaustion. Sometimes, I can’t help but ask myself: why not just go home, get supported by daddy, do nothing all day instead of working?
Sounds very tempting but the answer is really simple and it’s because I know I am meant for greater things. I know my value and worth as a person, and I do know the extent of my potential. Sure, I may not be the prettiest, the smartest, and the most charismatic person ever but… I’m made out of all the right stuff and I’m pretty well-balanced, thus, I achieve things. Some people are okay with wasting away and doing nothing on a daily basis, but definitely not me. I am simply too ambitious and I need my own sense of fulfillment: something that doesn’t come with watching Youtube and vegetating on my bed (no matter how much I want to). I may complain a lot about the stress and the anxiety that comes with the pressure of a “job well-done” but I’d rather have that any day and gain life skills and wisdom, than be ignorant of real struggle
I think having responsibilities and taking responsibilities are indicative of a person’s character.
Also, there is of course, my shopping. In order for me to spend for nice things, guilt-free, I have to earn a living. Sure, working corporate isn’t the only option out there but it’s what works for me and it’s where I’m learning so much from. It doesn’t really matter what it is that you do, so as long as you become independent, self-reliant, passionate, and proud of yourself. To commemorate that, I wore this pair of floral coordinates to work! So I bought the printed pants first on my trip to Singapore a few years back; months after, my best friend from Canada sent me over the top on a whim without knowing I had the matching pants. It never occured to me to wear it at the same time if only because I felt it was too “old” a look to coordinate.
Thankfully, coordinates are all the rage and I just figured, why the hell not. It makes for a wonderful office attire! Here are some more photos:
I think everyone has, at some point, checked out Otterbox cases for their iPhones. They look sturdy and very reliable–they’re also extremely expensive too. I used to call them “daddy cases” because I figured, only businessmen dads would invest in such shockproof cases. Boy, was I wrong! When Otterbox Philippines sent me a bright pink case from their Symmetry line, I was blown away. It was stylish and sleek, but still very sturdy. For those of you who own iPhone 6s (and you know just how bendy they can get), I highly suggest this case. It’s definitely a premium case but at least you know you don’t have to worry if you do leave your phone on your back pocket!
