You know that iconic scene in Marilyn Monroe’s: The Seven Year Itch, where she was wearing a white cocktail dress and standing on top of a grate on a sidewalk, the delicate fabric billowing on all directions (and showcasing her gams)? That image is still pretty much prevalent in this era–a part of Marilyn Monroe’s legacy; emulated by would-be pin-up girls and parodied in movies. I believe that its popularity could be attributed to the fact that it was so unexpectedly coquettish.
Now, I’m not saying everyone should stand over windy vents and have their skirts reveal their respective underwears to exude sexiness but rather, to imbibe that level of confidence and allowing the wind to push you in that proper direction. Personally, I just find certain imagery made sexier by the presence of literal and figurative wind: a quick facial snapshot in the beach with hair askew, sheer clothing in #ootds having a life of their own… it just adds the necessary drama.
That was how I felt when I attended my boyfriend’s family function. I opted for frilly and swishy fabrics for my outfit because I wanted everything to seem fluid; little did I know, when I would take my photo set, that the wind would be strong enough to commandeer several aspects of my outfit’s placement. Not that it was a hindrance or anything (though the wind was surprisingly strong), it did make for interesting photos. Remind me to recreate that iconic scene one of these days (or to at least come as Marilyn Monroe some Halloween, that would be super cute). Anyway, here are some more photos:
Before I forget, I just wanted to share with you a new announcement from one of the leading beauty Skincare products in the Market. I attended their event recently last January 13, where they revealed their newest endorser!
If you don’t know about the brand I’m talking to or the new celebrity face then allow me to give you a hint: this handsome celebrity is a Box Office King, known for his tearjerker roles & stellar performances.
Yes, Piolo Pascual–or as his fans call him: “Papa P”–is the newest face of Silka! The brand that is known to use the best Papaya extract enzyme on top of the most premium ingredients to promise not only fair skin, but also supple skin. He’s a welcome addition right beside the long-time celebrity endorser of the brand Iya Villania-Arellano.
Suffice to say, an award winning actor is definitely the perfect match for an award winning brand! Congratulations for the wonderful addition, Silka Skincare, what a perfect tie-up!
