Forgive me if I sound like an overplayed television commercial airing in between soap operas but, I just think that whoever said: “for you to look good on the outside, you have to feel good on the inside” was really on to something. I’ve long yakked about the importance of having a positive mindset with a firm grasp on reality when it comes to… well, everything, but I really do believe that a person’s perspective is a solid foundation to everything external. Your course of action always starts with a thought, right?
So again, it’s pretty simple, how you physically look and how you act is dictated by how you want to project yourself. It’s quite along the lines of “you’re your own destiny/ruler/boss” kind-of shebang. In fact, before I set out to start my day, I always have to mentally prepare myself because I’m pretty sure my disposition affects how I look and how I dress up–essentially, if I want to shine bright like a diamond on the outside, I have to feel like I’m worth a million bucks on the inside.
This is why I try not to get psyched by anything. A huge source of anxiety for me would be my skin as I’m very meticulous with it. For me to be comfortable in my own skin, it has to look decent to an extent because, at the end of the day, even if I wear Chael or whatnot, if I have a pimple because I failed to follow-through with my skincare regimen, then the outfit won’t matter as I’ll still have that pimple. That pimple will haunt me, not because I’m being plain petty (that’s just 10% of my being) but simply because it’s something I could have prevented had I been disciplined enough to take good care of myself and my skin.
Every Mean Girl needs to take care of her skin–be it for vanity purposes or be it a tangible metaphor or reminder that for you to be able to reach a certain level of excellence, then you have to practice it even with the small things.
Speaking of skin, here’s a photo set where I show a huge chunk of it…
Since we’re all about the topic of skin, I’ll share with you a new discovery of mine…
If you’ve seen my tweets a few days ago, I featured a care package from Olay with a whole lot of their #bestbeautiful products. The first one that I tried was the Olay Natural White Bar with Vitamin C–a welcome variant from their moisturizing soap line that promises “healthy fairness” and “radiance.” As I’ve mentioned a lot of times before, the key defining factor for products that I patronize are the ones that give me THE glow as I think it’s what makes people look young and well taken care of.
Plus, with the innovation of Vitamin C? I am definitely sold. Vitamin C is a good driver for fairness–this is why, when you check whitening products in the market, you will notice that they are boosted with Vitamin C. The only difference here of course, is that the soap is from Olay–a trusted brand for facial and body care products. The best whitening soap out there for me, in fact.
In fact, it’s a legacy brand–I grew up with my grandmother recommending I use Olay!
The thing that I liked about this soap apart from it being one of the main reasons why my skin isn’t dull despite all the work-related stress, is that its texture is hard. I’m used to a lot of facial soaps that are soft in texture and are quick to melt once used, so it was a welcome benefit. I also very much liked the clean feel I get as soon as I rinse off–it just assures me further that the dead skin cells that might have accumulated on my face and body all-through-out the day gets eliminated (without eliminating the moisture). Aside from other whitening soaps that are harsh on your skin (tingling sensation, painful peeling, etc), Olay gives you gentle exfoliation.
Here are some of the soap’s added benefits:
- It’s Triple Whitening System Exfoliates, brightens and evens skin tone, so you can get All-in-One Fairness.
- Makes skin feel soft and smooth.
- It contains skin cream ingredients from Olay, the world’s # 1 skincare brand.
- It has a fresh and clean scent.
- Help reveal your skin’s natural radiance and glow.
Try it out personally so you can see how it fares (pun intended). Be your #bestbeautiful!
