After days of careful planning, I was finally able to throw my boyfriend’s surprise despedida at SpeakEasy Makati! In attendence were his High School and University friends, former officemates, and family members. It was an intimate affair that involved good food, lots of drinks served, and well wishes from everyone. It dawned on me then that the count towards his departure is almost coming to an end–in less than two weeks, he will be leaving. I’m handling myself well right now, but I don’t know how I will be on the dreaded day.
Positive thoughts though! I’m just glad everyone in the party promised to keep me company in the succeeding weeks and months to come, so I’m pretty sure I won’t be that lonely. Besides, come December, the boyfriend will be home and things will be peachy for at least two weeks.
For now, I’m just simply going through the motions and spending as much time as I can with him. Yes, my days are always robust and I often have to go home on the dot from work, sacrifice gym time, and my mandatory 8-hours of beauty sleep… but you know, it’s worth it. I’m willing to not sleep just so I can maximize my time with him! I’m really, really going to miss his physical presence but I know we’ll be fine. Small sacrifices are needed to reap big rewards, after all… and if it means a great forever for the both of us then by all means, go!
So anyway, this outfit is a bit experimental for me. I’ve had both of this items for quite a while already and I just didn’t know how to style them singularly… that is, until I decided on a whim to match both seemingly disparate pieces together! The combination caught me off-guard, to be honest–I initially had no emotional investment to the outfit whatsoever to the point that I didn’t even plan on shooting it. However, when I checked my reflection out on the mirror, I was pleasantly surprised to see the silhouette and the color combination work–and I very much liked the street, hipster vibe it exuded. Once again, we’v reached the part of my very important announcements. Recently, I was recommended this site for the brand Metalicus, which caters to everyday casual wear. It reminded me a lot of the casual spandex tops that are comfortable and wearable, even in the corporate setting! Think: casual chic that is fully functional and yet aesthetically pretty. I personally believe (and had gone as far as to recommend) that a lot of my officemates would enjoy going and shopping through this site:
Here are two pieces that I think corporate-junkies would love:
The good thing about this site is that they cater to international buyers–which is usually very important when you’re shopping online. Most people find it difficult to shop abroad simply because of the lack of availability for shipping.
Apart from that, it is also important to note that they also house other types of apparel, from dresses to cardigans to accessories even! Metalicus is a relatively new online brand from Australia, if I’m not mistaken. If you have the time and you want to beef your wardrobe with dependable staples, get your own ladies tops online from Metalicus!
