In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, it’s nice to take a step back and just breathe. Such is life for the working girl… between the long hours, coming up with multiple deliverables before COB, and attending impromptu client meetings, the idea of relaxation is indeed a luxury. I know, I know, I’m only on my fourth day (officially) and I’ve been on an eight-week long break but the Advertising industry is very fast-paced and dynamic–the cogs never seem to stop turning!
I’m still getting into my groove… like a square peg in a round hole but hey, I think coming from a slightly different background gives me a certain advantage even if the learning curve is quite steep. I guess that’s the beauty of working in this industry, the growth will always be continuous–a “work-in-progress”, others would call it
Yesterday, I had a sort-of epiphany regarding my career. I was happy. Normally, I would have ran straight for the hills, never wanting to come back, but I feel at peace with myself, like I’ve made the right decision. This is exactly where I want to be. I know the odds are in my favor in regards to the ripeness of the industry (digital advertising) but more than the facts, it just feels right. What seemed to be weeks filled with doubt, agitation, and going astray was off-set somehow with this sense of almost-fulfillment.
This is my silver lining.
Anyway, here is an outfit I wore back when I was unemployed a couple of weeks ago. It is the antithesis of my previous blog post which showcased a rather “corporate” look. I’m going to miss wearing shoulder/belly-baring clothes and quirky head-pieces on a day-to-day basis but at least I’ll have more outfit posts for work. Here are some more photos:
