Finally, the stressful week is over and as you can see, I am already starting to blog a bit more consistently (yay!). I’m only hoping nothing eventful will happen in the next following days as I need a breather but on the plus side, I just recently purchased a tiny grey Persian kitty to help me keep my sanity in the midst of last week’s errands, personal affairs, and meetings! So far, I think I’ve transformed into a certified cat lover (something I never thought I would be as I’ve grown up with dogs all my life)–to be fair, my kitty: Kenzo is pretty much like a puppy-kitty hybrid (most of my friends say so too) and right now, he’s hanging by my keyboard and angrily chasing my moving fingers (in an effort to chew on it as he is teething).
I don’t really have much to say, I’m at a loss for words… the well is dry from writing too much: articles for Manila Bulletin, press-releases for brands I’m endorsing, and thinking of interview answers so I’m just going to keep this brief. I’m also still a bit exhausted–believe it or not, last night was the first decent night I’ve had in days! I’m physically tired but I’m all fine and still sarcastic so much love to all.
This was the outfit I donned for PLDT Ultera’s launch. The event started in the afternoon and so I wanted to keep my outfit classy but still very comfortable. Here are some more photos:
Once again, we’ve reached the bottom-most of my blog entry—the very special section I reserve for crucial announcements and discoveries. Anyway, in line with that, I’d like to know… who here could not live without the internet? Admittedly, I can’t! Whether I’m at home or on the go, I need internet to check my mail, to do research, to view maps, to know the weather, and to keep my network and I up-to-date. Prior to leaving for Boracay, I attended the PLDT HOME Bro Ultera launch atthe SMX Convention Hall where they unveiled, not only their latest product, but also the brand’s newest endorsers!
So what is PLDT HOME Bro Ultera? It’s the new LTE for your home. It’s not just LTE, it’s TD-LTE (Time-Division Duplex-Long Term Evolution)—a dedicated network with its own allocated bandwidth different from that of smartphones/pocket wifis. Remove all the jargon, the point here is that “it’s fast” and it’s the very first in the Philippines!
Since early this year, PLDT HOME has been beta testing Ultera at over 200 pilot sits nationwide particularly in rural areas where internet infrastructures are not developed. Utilizing its extensive network , it aims to provide customers with an exceptional ultra-fast connectivity in 3 available plans: the Ultera Basic which provides 3 mbps, Ultera Max with 5 mbps, and Ultera Pro with 10 mbps.
Yes, 10 mbps—crazy, right? Can you imagine how wonderful your home life is when no one at home shouts, “Who’s downloading a torrent?” simply because the internet is getting slow? Now it makes sense that they got the Teng brothers: Jeric and Jeron, who are both household names thanks to the overly-competitive collegiate basketball games, as well as their sister, Almira!
Apparently, the siblings (together with their parents and oldest sister) are self-
confessed home buddies who enjoy downloading and watching movies together, and entertaining themselves through music and social media. They were ecstatic to be taken is as ambassadors given that internet is very important to them and that they would not settle for anything but the best wireless broadband for their home. In fact, it serves as an important catalyst that enriches their home-bonding experience because its speed gives them the strong connection not towards each other but also to better themselves and pursue their passions while having fun.
Speaking of the wireless broadband’s speed, in the event, to prove a point, they decided to set certain benchmarks… for example, the number of hoops shot by the Teng Brothers at a given time VS the number of photos they can upload at the same time or the Teng Brothers sprinting VS uploading a video. Now we can all guess who won in that ordeal!
But that’s not all, the PLDT HOME Bro Ultera comes with special add-ons as well that can further the family bonding experience! There’s Clickplay to watch movies, EA Games for the younger ones, News5 everywhere for the older ones, and then there’s also Spinnr for the music fans of the family!
