“Well, to be fair, you don’t look a day over 21, and you do tend to experiment and diversify your style sometimes to the point that you come up with outfits that are young, fun, and fresh but still chic minus the tacky and trying hard!” Said a Good Friend, the moment I told her that I was on board with the SM Girls Teens Wear team for a “Stylehunt” session at SM Megamall.
It was a bittersweet kind-of-thing… knowing that I was 25, and didn’t look or seem like it. Does that mean I look young? Or does that mean I don’t dress my age? Could be, could be… but hey, I always like to look at the cup half-full so I flashed said Good Friend a smile and thanked her–I think I’ll take the passing-off-for-22-due-to-dressing-fresh-and-chic-but-not-tacky tidbit any day over being boring and having cohesive, repetitive style.
Also, I do think I have a lot of child-like qualities (otherwise known as, immature) that enable me to relate with people who are younger than me. I am, for a fact, very sprightly and animated as a person. I mean, I’m serious at first glance but when people get to know me beyond the superficial/professional level, they all know how goofy I can get or how sarcastic and self-deprecating I can become.
So I’m embracing my current role as a style-huntress for the SM Girls Teens Wear–as much as I am beyond what people would call, a “teenager”, I think my youthful outlook in life (and my youthful desires) are enough to put me in the same level.
This is the outfit I wore on the day itself–I made sure to look the part. I didn’t want to look too prim and proper since I knew for a fact that SM Girls Teens Wear’s brand identity wasn’t lady-like. I did, dress young and funky–in a variety of colors at that! Here are some photos of my outfit and a few BTS photos of fashionable girls I’ve spotted:
