This was the outfit I prepared for the second day of 7107… but opted to wear it out for brunch at C’s Italian Dining instead. The moment I saw this delightful pair hanging in some obscure corner of Forever 21 SM Aura last November 2013, I knew in my heart and mind that it belonged inside my burgeoning, space-less closet.
It took me a while to find a perfect occasion to sashay in it though! I mean, duh, I only debuted it last weekend. I guess cause I’m usually not very experimental with colors so I hesitate to just casually wear it. Those pieces made a statement and I know for a fact they deserved the proper recognition and praises in the midst of a wonderful background (part of my New Year’s Resolution).
So when I stepped out of our villa on our way to the restaurant, I felt one with the flora and fauna lining the pathway to the street. For that very second, I was a flower child.
That was it, that was the right place, the right day, and the right time! So I posed to my heart’s content, and had my photos snapped like nobody’s business. I wasn’t going to let that window of opportunity go to waste!
So anyway, I’m not really one to romanticize my outfits. I mean, I wear them, I love them, I talk about them once in a while, but not with this much passion (and maybe with a pinch of unnecessary drama and cajoling) I guess. I’m not sure if people noticed but this is something pretty extraordinary for me–I don’t normally dress in something so young and so attention-grabbing. Moreover; surprise, surprise!–I’m not wearing a stitch of designer labels.
This is a fashionable outfit I built from scratch that I am extremely proud of.
I’m breaking perceptions with this outfit… one step at a time. Who says you can’t be fashionable without designer digs? Who says you can’t wear colors when you’re no longer a teenager? Who says flowers on your head are reserved for Hawaiian Luaus?
I realized… I don’t care.
So I’m going to try and break common principles I keep. I’m going to dress however I want, when I want, so as long as the occasion is appropriate and so as long as I still aim for sophistication and class. Do what you love, and do it often.
I, thank you.
On a side note, I was seriously channeling Lana Del Rey though.
So, if you haven’t read my previous post, then I guess the title wouldn’t make so much sense yet. Sure, it’s the title of the song Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sang for the Grammy’s, big deal (if you haven’t seen it, play the video below, it’s a beautiful song so you should at least hear it)…
But as I mentioned, I am raffling off 3 Lowerbox tickets to the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis concert! Special thanks to Viber and Visa!
