Your hair should be your crowning glory–is what I think. Whether you’re an actress, a blogger, a regular person, or a stork, you should never neglect your hair. Call me preachy but I think highly of hair… plus, I’m the type of person who would secretly judge you for your hair’s condition with my whiny evil mental voice.
Just kidding (kinda)!
I’m not saying one’s hair should be pristine and immaculate at all times (we can’t always look like we stepped out of a salon) but it would be nice to shower it with a bit of attention once in a while. Your hair’s state is a testament of how you take care of yourself as it’s the little things that count (like how clean your nails are, if your clothes are pressed, so on and forth).
For me, I always make it a point to pamper my hair once in a while. I try to use the best hair products in the market, I have my mane trimmed constantly, I try not to over-style it to keep it at a healthy state, I get power doses/glosses to keep my hair shiny, and I never miss an appointment to have my roots done. In a sense, it’s a bit of a commitment really.
That’s why, I’m pretty happy being one of Matrix’s Hair Ambassadors! Aside from being a fan of their products (I would always ask my stylist to use Matrix colors even prior to the endorsement–they are the #1 American Salon Brand), they share the same hair principles as I do!
So recently, I had my hair colored in a cohesive brown color (for those asking, it’s Wonderbrown 4 Mocha shade). I’ve been dyeing it blonde for the longest time and I was getting really bored with the color. Plus, it was getting slightly damaged already! When the Matrix crew asked me what I wanted to do with my hair, I told them I didn’t want anything too drastic–not now, at least. I was gunning for subtle, especially since it was Fall/Winter at the time. I figured I’d leave the kooky blondes for Summer. So they gave me the “New York Chic” makeover–a dual color service that entails a base color and highlights. Since I wanted to retain my current shade, they just added subtle highlights in a lighter shade of Mocha. It was a pretty quick process–when I looked around, I saw Alyssa Lapid having both her base and her highlights in just one application!
Anyway, sorry for the jargon! Basically, if you want to avail of Matrix’s dual color services, head over to the nearest salon! If you’re lucky, you’ll see catalogs of myself and Alyssa or standees of all the ambassadors inside! If you’re even luckier… you’ll get a free salon makeover! But before that, here are a few print items I’d like to show you from the brand (yes, I have no makeup on cause I was having allergies that day):
