While visiting Cebu for the weekend, my sister and I did this high-key impromptu outdoor shoot on the veranda of our house. It was a little past 6, I think, and we were pretty much on the edge of boredom, waiting for the parental unit as they took their jolly time (in other words: painstakingly slow) dressing up for a family dinner in one of our relatives’ Chinese restaurant: Taste of Mandarin.
As you can see, I don’t really dress up as much in my hometown. Fashion here is more laid-back and casual; anything too avant-garde would make anyone stick out like a sore thumb and trust me, my heels do that enough without my trying.
Anyway, enough “Fashion-related” talk. Granted, I was going to narrate my stay and show everyone the sensible fashion choices I made for a variety of activities but given the current state of our climate, I think it’s best to leave that story for the next succeeding posts. Right now, I’m a little bit worried about my family situated in the very same area that’s supposed to take the brunt of the typhoon’s effects. Plus, my mom was pretty much traumatized for life by the earthquake Cebu experienced a little bit over 2 weeks ago.
My mom has a mild anxiety disorder and she tends to over-react and panic at the onset of anything dangerous.
So I called her up just now to check up and she told me that the storm has passed already, with no lasting damages at least. She was still a bit anxious, but much better than when I called her during the aftermath of the Earthquake. I’m just pretty much thankful that we live in a secure village with a sturdy structure–upon checking, none of our other houses or constructions were severely affected (save for minor fissures and hairline cracks).
I can only hope the same for the rest as well. I hope that all of you in the Visayas region are safe and sound, you have our prayers.
Ayway, on a lighter note… here are some more photos:
So as you may have noticed recently, I’m sporting a darker hair color. My original hair color is much lighter than this, in fact. So a year ago, I was blonde, and then I transitioned into a chocolate hue that lightened eventually for the summer. Now, for fall season, I’m taking the plunge and embracing a dark and rich hue.
I’ve always wanted to have a darker hair color–I was a huge fan of the pale and black hair combo but I never thought it would sit well with my features. I decided to give it a try anyway and I pretty much like it. I think I’ll keep it for a bit. Now, for those of you who are willing to take the plunge then this might be your chance!
