I’m so psyched for summer!
I feel like a child again, waiting for the school year to be finally over. I love the fact that it isn’t dark out at 6 in the evening, I love that biting feel of sun against my bare shoulders, I love being able to wear white unapologetically, and I love adding tiny flecks of freckles to my already growing collection (this is me being self-deprecating). Aside from a total wardrobe change, the thing I love most about summer is that I get to travel. A lot.
In just two weeks, I’ll be leaving for Thailand for our annual family trip. I love Thailand! I love it for its cheap yet stylish clothes, for the elephants and tigers, for the vast array of jewelry, and for the spicy food. Thankfully, Thailand’s weather is pretty much similar to ours so I don’t have to worry about layering my outfit or encountering sullen-looking leaves-less tree branches (which are extremely rampant in cold countries during March).
Shortly after that I’ll be leaving for Boracay with Enzo, JL, and a few other friends to celebrate the Labor Day weekend! Summer is all about the beach, and Boracay is the perfect place to chill, relax, swim, and party with girly drinks in tow. This is where JL and I will have 4 bikini changes in a day–I kid you not! In fact, we did just that last year. I’ve been collecting a variety of swimsuits all-year-round from different brands and from our upcoming Glitterati swimwear collection. Plus, we’ve been going to the gym and eating cleanly to fit wonderfully into each piece.
Then, in a few days, I will be heading to Hong Kong to join my boyfriend and his family for their annual family trip. See, I usually go to Hong Kong at least once a year to shop and given that Boracay is finally over, I can supplement my trip with good food! I’ll definitely make a beeline to all shops where I’ll stock up on unique apparel finds, designer garb, and tons of makeup!
Finally, maybe a little bit less than a month, I will be in Singapore again with Enzo to celebrate our anniversary (with my younger sister Paige, who will be turning 17 on the exact same date). Though we’ve both been there numerous times, the place will always hold a special place in our heart because it was where I realized my feelings for him and when we declared ourselves to be exclusively dating. I recall telling him, “I can imagine coming back here with you someday” and now, we’re finally making it happen!
So yes, I’ve an exciting summer ahead of me and I just can’t wait to go through the motions.
I absolutely adore this dress from Nouveau Brat, and you know what? My boyfriend does too! The stretchy lace fabric gives it a bit of a feminine touch, while the length and cuve-hugging style of the dress gives it a sexy, casual look. Both qualities make the dress extremely flattering and classy, I believe. I also happen to think it’s perfect for just about any occasion–wear it to a breakfast meeting, wear it to work, or wear it to a club and it will fit right in.
Also, people have been asking me about my beauty loot! So here it is:
For my face: YSL Touche Eclat, my every-trusty cream concealer that usually supplements my MAC cream concealer (not in photo), Shu Uemura UV base that usually supplements my Benefit Porefessional makeup base, Shu Uemura face architect foundation to complement my base, Rice Powder loose powder to set my eye area, and Chanel foundation powder to set the rest of my face (and for touch-ups too).
For my eyes: MAC eyeshadow palette with pearly, luminescent undertones, Laura Mercier eyeshadow duo for the easy-to-do smokey eye, MAC brow kit for the appearance of well-groomed eyebrows, Prestige white eyeliner for lining the lower lash line, Prestige liquid eyeliner in dark brown to line the upper lid and the bronze to line the outside of the lower lid, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, Maybelline volumizing mascara
For the Cheeks: Guerlain bronzer to angle a few certain parts of my face, and the Shiseido Camellia blush for that seemingly natural, peach flush!
The rest: Gucci compact mirror that I utilize whenever I check if I’m due for another makeup retouch, YSL rouge volupte shade 9–my favorite shade of all time, MAC Nicki Minaj Viva Glam lipstick from Lannel Boutique (they sell affordable and genuine MAC products), Shiseido Illuminating stick highlighter, Chanel shade 32–my every day lipstick that’s a cross between nude and coral, Nature Republic nude lipstick with gloss, YSL lipgloss in pear, and Guerlain bullet lipstick in red.
Actually, I’m a makeup hoarder and I have two drawers filled to the brink with makeup but I usually stick to the ones I featured above. I tend to be very loyal to certain brands and if it’s something that’s tried and tested, it’s hard to convince me to switch! I do want to have variations of my looks of course so from time to time, I switch up albeit briefly just to try something new!
Hope this helps!
