I’m a fan of the color pink… if it isn’t that staggeringly obvious. In fact, I used to consider pink as my favorite color back when I was still in High School (am I that old already? Can I still call myself a “teenager?”).
You know how in slum books, it always had that field where you were asked to input your favorite color? I would always jot down “pink”–no second thoughts, it was automatic. This was mostly because most (if not all) of the things I owned back then came in a variety of pink shades: my prom dress was azalea, my Jansport rucksack was salmon, my lipgloss was coral (it still is), and most of the tops I owned back then came in a variety of pink hues–from damask to cerise to fuchsia!
There’s just something so warm and happy with the color. Nowadays, I swear by my pink lipsticks (yes, I’ve a a variety of 15 or more pink shades from all sorts of brands) and I use them every single day! I think pink is extremely flattering on most skin tones.
So for this particular day, I went back to the color I’ve long been accustomed to. As you may have noticed, I’ve been a bit more experimental lately and leaning towards an edgier palette–with the variety of olive, grey, navy, and wine pieces I’ve been donning. As much as I love all the new colors I’ve acquainted myself with, there’s just something about the color pink that tickles my fancy–maybe it’s a sense of familiarity and nostalgia?
Whatever it may be, I think the color pink will never go out of style, and maybe that’s why I keep buying articles of clothing in pink.
I swear, one day, when I have a daughter, I am going to deck her in the gayest pink outfits known to mankind. You just watch me.
Also, just to set the record straight, just because I’m a huge “fan” of pink doesn’t mean it’s my favorite color. Semantics. As much as I want to be hipster and say, “I don’t have a favorite color”, I kind of do–I’m a “white” kind of girl. But that’s the thing, with white, you can pair it up with virtually anything! Usually, my favorite combo is white with pink or white with nude.
This is the “summer ready” outfit I wore to the first leg of the Supersale Bazaar 2013! If you hang around my instagram and twitter, you’d be able to see my nonstop gushing of unique summer finds and stores I’ve come across! I was able to get a variety of swimwear, summer-themed clothes, and accessories.
If you missed it, don’t fret! The next one is this May so see you there!!!
