Little by little, I’m reintroducing colors (of the bright and bold variety) back into my wardrobe recently. I do like my monochromatic silhouettes but I think taking a “lighter” approach (literally) in dressing is more spring/summer-appropriate; not to mention, with the spoils of last year’s summer trend/s, I still have a lot of neon and fluorescent pieces in my closet that I can recycle to my advantage!
As I’ve mentioned before, the way I dress is a reflection of my state of mind. Re-injecting a mix of colors into my wardrobe is a parallelism of reinstating positive vibes back into my innermost psyche. In the midst of all the stress these past few weeks, I admit that there really are times when I do forget to smile and appreciate the little things happening in my life.
Real people have real problems, that’s a fact. I go through obstacles like every other person; I make mistakes and I recognize my varied capacities. I should remember to live and let live though. I shouldn’t be too uptight and I should always maintain a healthy outlook. After all, there is so much good things going on in my life that the dark clouds appear insignificant right next to my blessings.
Back in college, I was the master of “being one with the universe.” I think it’s about time I go back to my zen condition.
With that, I leave you with the Serenity Prayer by twentieth century American theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
Because I was utterly clueless on how to fix my camera’s ISO, I ended up with an overexposed photo. Thankfully, my ever helpful boyfriend guided me through via text on how to fix my settings.
I love my denim shorts from Wranger. It’s so comfortable! Plus, it’s perfect for casual days. The light wash allows it to be easily paired to a variety of tops and the length allows for the wearer to be mobile.
Back in college, I used to have a wide array of denim shorts. I paired them off with all sorts of top–loose tanks, ribbed racerbacks, and even button-downs. Denim shorts are very versatile and I honestly believe that Wrangler provides top-quality denim shorts in a variety of washes.
