The title of this blog post is based on renowned French singer Edith Piaf’s song: “La Vie En Rose“, which in English, basically translates to “Life in Rosy Hues.” I’ve been a little bit more experimental with colors as of late, don’t you think? A reflection of my rather colorful outlook in life, perhaps.
The thing is, choosing to have a so-called “colorful outlook” in life is an active decision. Sure, human beings have a tendency to dwell in negative emotions and yes, there are times when mulling over obstacles can be acceptable (given all the monstrosities happening all over the world every single day) but I think it’s still important to never lose sight of the small victories and opportunities. After all, if a person revels too much on the negative, the tendency is: the pessimistic energy will eventually evolve to become resentment (and resentment serves as fuel to potential malicious acts).
So today, I am choosing to be happy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in a place in my life where I’m practically happy and contented with the way things are but I want to be happier, I want to continue being happy so I’m dispelling all the negative from my life and refocusing my energy on the good. In line with this, I promise not to compromise my principles for just about anything and to assist those who are in need of guidance or whatnot, so they may attain a semblance of calm in their pursuit of happiness.
This was the outfit I wore to the second day of the Supersale Bazaar at the World Trade Center three weeks ago. I wanted to dress casually to match the venue, and comfortably, to be able to shop for an extended time period and I think the endeavor was a success in itself. I managed to stay from the morning to late in the afternoon, helping my soul sister JL overlook the Glitterati booth and shop to my heart’s content.
Watch out for us in the next Supersale Bazaar!
You know another thing that makes me happy? The holiday season–all the gleaming glitters, rich textures, and vivid bold tones! In line with this, I present a brand that manages to present to everyone all 3 in their Hoiday collection–please take a look at Una Rosa’s F/W 2012 line:
As the world gets its fill of good tidings and holiday cheer, its fashionistas also have good reason to celebrate: ‘tis the season to Dress To Impress. Sequins and glitter abound during the holidays, creating a distinct dressiness unlike any other. On the streets, the archetypal top-and-jeans pairing gets a dose of glamour with layers of statement jewelry. Manila’s stylish folk paint the town red at the hippest holiday parties, mingling with the town’s most glamorous set.
