Last September 29, I had a meet and greet session at CC-OO SM Megamall branch with fellow bloggers Crissey Si and Marj Sia. Despite it being an impromptu event (having only been informed about it four days prior), the foot traffic was still pretty decent considering we were up against the Zac Efron press conference.
I kid! The CC-OO team did a pretty swell job showcasing their brand. I’ve long been acquainted with said brand even before it was established in the Philippines and I love how they sell simple and preppy yet versatile pieces reminiscent of Gap only with a fancy, girly twist. For those who dropped by, some were lucky enough to win 5,ooo php shopping spree and a few premium items.
Winner or not, thank you still for taking the time off your busy schedules.
Anyway, I’m glad I got to see Crissey as we haven’t seen each other for over a span of time. That’s what I love the most about our friendship–despite the distance, we still manage to converse and update one another constantly. Never mind making (empty) promises of seeing each other physically at every waking hour, what’s important is that we’re there for each other during the trying times. Crissey and I go a long way; we’ve known each other since college and she’s pretty much seen me grow from a cantankerous college teen who couldn’t speak a stitch of Filipino (extremely underweight with an irregular Edie Sedgwick bob but rocked the mod-print dresses all the same, not to mention, came in extremely late for a lot of classes coming from shoots for annoying teeny-bopper features in magazines, newspapers, and television) to a slightly cantankerous but mostly confident and secure woman with wonderful vixen-like hair, who can speak straight Filipino, talk about business and come up instantly with whip-like acerbic retorts.
That’s solid friendship right there, one that I will never take for granted. She’s a wonderful and deep person, and she’s loyal down to the bone.
Next, I’m also extremely ecstatic that my awesome boyfriend accompanied me to the event. There was a big Ateneo-La Salle UAAP game happening at the very same moment and though he had access to tickets, he opted to come with me to show his support. I am beyond touched, I know for sure that I am one of his top-most priorities. It reminded me of the time when we were still going out during the third Blogger’s United event, where he manned my booth without my asking him, and how he stayed over from the start to the end.
Very thoughtful man, that man–the best. Likewise, he took all my photos too and entertained a bunch of people. Between the two of us, he’s the people-person and I’m glad that he’s almost always able to step-in during awkward conversations.
My boyfriend loves it when I wear the gifts he’s given me so I always make it a point to wear them when I do outfit posts. This clutch in particular was something he gave me a week before my birthday–knowing that I’ve been looking for it all over Bluefly, he decided to put me (and himself) out of my misery by being the one to purchase it at the Jimmy Choo store in Resort’s World (he was undecided on what to give me, taking much effort to research on items that I would not only want but also need–it was a tie between an iphone 5 or a Charriol watch but I’m glad he opted for something classy and less expensive).
