As a child, I’ve always looked forward to celebrating the New Year. I wish I had a touching or deep story to tell as to why I love the aforementioned holiday but to be quite honest, my reason remains shallow, if not pathetic. It’s simple: I love fireworks (don’t worry, I don’t have Katy Perry’s song embedded on my post). At the age of eight, I’ve already lit up a few firecrackers (unassisted)–and yes, at some point in my life, even a few illegal ones (though to the benefit of our family, it wasn’t illegal back then). Hell, we’re the type of family to invest in pyrotechnic display (seriously).
But as I grew older, in lieu of fireworks display, parties took place–nothing too grand but dressing up took precedence and priority over lighting up sparklers. Of course, I don’t regret turning to fashion rather than patronizing other dangerous hobbies (and trust me, this would have happened seeing as I’m the type to bungee jump and do all sorts of crazy things) considering I’m very clumsy and impulsive.
Anyway, I digress, the reason for this post is that I want to declare my New Year’s resolution–fashion-wise, of course. Personally, I’ve only thought of one and judging from the accompanying photos, it won’t be surprising if I told you my New Year’s resolution involves knowing how to dress appropriately for work.
Yes, I will now be integrating corporate outfits into my future posts (I’ve received requests regarding corporate dressing). This is mostly due to the fact that I tend to dress inappropriately in the office. If one wants to be respected in the workplace then an adjustment to one’s way of dressing should be applied–but note, one’s style shouldn’t ever be compromised. This is basically the scope of my New Year’s resolution.
How about you? What’s your New Year’s fashion resolution?
