Ever since I got a hold of the H&M Fall/Winter catalog, I’ve been obsessed with knits. Okay, maybe that’s a lie, apart from wanting to be born blonde at five-years-old, my ambition in life was to become a certified bag-lady–manifested in my love for knits, with a particular fondness for pullovers with strange little squiggly patterns.
It made me feel like I was in a foreign land. I would wear them out even when it rendered my hair damp from sweat. Bear with me, I was a delusional, idealistic child with half a marble for brains.
Now, I have the perfect excuse to live my childhood ambition (of wearing knits, not becoming a bag-lady) as I work in an office where the temperatures could rival that of the Arctic.Plus, High Street stores are now overflowing with chunky knitted outerwear–be it in the form of cardigans, pullovers, sweaters (in tribal prints), vests( in wool/shearling blend), so on and so forth. Pair them with awesome, boho clogs and voila, channeling Harajuku Mori Girls–perfect for Fall/Winter!
But since I’m not exactly a hermit and I haven’t yet filed for permanent residency in my office cubicle (though sometimes, I feel like I practically live there), there are times when wearing knits out are somewhat self-indulgent. Living in the heart of Southeast Asia (okay, are we really in the heart? I just made that shit up–me and my Geography), the coolest wecan go during the supposed Fall/Winter Fashion is with the assistance of a 1 HP A/C and teeny tiny shorts.
On rare isolated cases, the gust of monsoon winds would billow hard enough to lift skirts so people can see either France or England or whatever you call your underwear (and God knows, we don’t need any more monsoons or typhoons). But at least, hey, ventilation!
So here I am, being an absolute nutter, wearing my knits with my favourite denim shorts (and no, it might seem like I only own 1 pair of denim shorts but I actually own two, I just happen to like this one more). Just popping up at Eastwood to say hello, take a photo, go inside the “haunted maze”, be featured in the Eastwood website (as per the nice lady who took a photo of me though I forgot to ask the website URL), and watch Life as We Know It.

I liked this photo more but it’s super blurry. :<
So okay, I have no tips for now. This is me, experimenting with knits. I’m not sure if I’ve succeeded but I’ve come to realize that mixing Summer wear with Winter wear, though probably not the best looking combo altogether, is very practical (Philippine weather + old clothes = yay).
