I love the idea of Autumn–much more than any other season. I love the warm Autumn colours and the dizzying array of orange, reds, and browns! Another thing I love about Autumn is the fall/winter trend forecasts–I got mine, courtesy of H&M magazine and the beefed-up September issue of Vogue.
Anyway, since I’m an over-eager beaver, I went out to find a few fall increments to append to my current wardrobe. I had a mental list that included an army green utilitarian cotton maxi-dress, a few more military jackets, knitted ponchos and capes, and thigh high boots.
I haven’t found any of the aforementioned but it’s only the second week of September. I’m optimistic, I’m sure they’ll come around soon. Besides, I’m not surprised about the shortage of fall pieces–in my country, the summer season is all-year-round. When it’s around 25 degrees Celcius outside, it’s half-near ridiculous to be bundled up in fur-trimmed coats, quilted-leather jackets, or anything thermal for that matter.
I say “half-near ridiculous” because I do go around wearing the aforementioned regardless of the weather. The other half of my brain reasons that I work in a chilly office and to go by Anna delo Russo’s adage, just where whatever the hell it is that you want (not verbatim but something to the same effect). You’ve only got one life to live anyway, and a few days to correct your mistakes.
This set is basically my ode to Summer and my hello to Fall, wherein I tried to mix and match pieces that I think are workable for both seasons.
