Second blog post–see, I’m on a roll! Anyway, if you’ve somehow missed it, check my introductory blog post over here.
So a couple of days ago, I went over to my friend Gine’s place for a random, fun shoot. My friends and I do this often–random is random! I’m glad I have tons of talented photographer friends who’re totes okay with me going: “You doing anything today? Let’s have a shoot!”
Anyway, the thing I love most with Gine’s place is that, it’s so typically American. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by white picket fences and a pine tree (in this country, how Amazing is that?), a makeshift trellis with some fancy vine-y overgrowth on the walls, lamp posts on cobblestone passages, fold-able wooden beach chairs, and the like. It seemed like something right out of a fifties movie–definitely a treasure trove of both modern and vintage finds.
So we went to find things to supplement the clothes I brought. Upstairs, she had a box filled with her grandparent’s old clothes and accessories and obviously, we figured we cannot not use any of them–there were pearl necklaces, quirky sunglasses, and floral printed backpacks. Just perfect! God, I love vintage hand-me-downs–I know not a lot of people share the same sentiment but when I’m in need of a fashion fix, I usually just raid my grandmother’s stock closet. Gine’s lucky to have awesomely stylish grandparents. So from there, we took inspiration in all things vintage and brought the past to 2010!
